7.5/10

When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I was expecting another generic action movie, but I was pleasantly surprised after watching it. It is easily Keanu Reeves’ (John Wick) best film since the Matrix Trilogy and a well-made action movie in its own right.
Keanu Reeves stars as John Wick, an ex-hitman who is forced out of retirement because the son of a Russian mobster he use to work for takes away everything he cares about after the recent death of his wife. The movie is non-stop action from start to finish, flows together very well, and is accompanied by a well-suited Gothic soundtrack. It is testosterone filled with cool car chases, gun fights, and fist fights. There isn’t much of a story or deep dialogue, but everything else works so well you likely won’t care. It also features brief, but well played roles by Willem Dafoe and John Leguizamo.
As long as you don’t think about it too much, you’ll have a good time with John Wick. It is a high-energy, fluid action film through and through.
